We American's don't only eat red meat, or absolutely adore Texas, or always vote for George Bush. American is such an umbrella term that can never describe the different intricacies and nuances of some of the great individuals who are very proud to call themselves Americans.

In all honesty we may continually forget about other countries' needs in our haste to establish ourselves as a country, and we may be slow on the uptake when it comes to social progress, but when all is said and done America was founded on the ideals of liberty and happiness. We have just outgrown our meager beginnings and like a young child who suddenly hits puberty are having trouble in our new skin and place in the world.

We are reasonable. We are proud. But above all, we are human beings, much like every other human on this Earth.

However, we do still believe in Manifest Destiny.
